A persistent ghost has been spotted in Phlan, flitting from building to building. The residents say that it stands in front of the Laughing Goblin every night, eyes wide and full of terror. If approached, it screams and disappears. In the wake of the town’s re-opening and the retreat of the thick winter fogs, peace must be returned before people leave for good. A D&D Adventurer’s League adventure set in the town of Phlan.

A 4-hour Adventure for 5th – 10th Level Characters

Champion of the People explores Phlan after the events of DDEP4 and the election of Calypso (as happened at Winter Fantasy 2017). It sports some familiar faces, some new faces, and plenty of opportunity for characters to roleplay their way to crazy greatness - in fact, the adventure is deeply rooted in another piece of pop culture that should become apparent as the adventure unfolds!

In this Mission, runners get an assignment that is easy to describe but difficult to execute. The job? Ruin a life. The method? That’s where the runners come in. "He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart."
Proverbs 11:29

Long ago, the Seal of Solomon was formed by wise magi looking to seal away the supernatural hellish threats of the world from the world of humans. They banished them to a realm known as the Invisible World. However, the seal is not perfect and dark temptations, devils, curses, undead and more escape into our world slowly over time. You are a servant of the holy whose fate is to guard the world against threats from The Invisible World, continuing the fight of the magi while keeping the existence of this secret from the common man to prevent unbridled panic.

Once you were a farmer, or a sailor, or a laborer, or a doctor or even a beggar. Now, you have been chosen by the divine to fight against the evils of the Invisible World. Now you are Witch Hunters.

Almost all Pathfinders undergo extensive training for three or more years to learn the tricks of the trade, and their last test before graduating from the ranks of the initiates to the status of a full Pathfinder agent is the Confirmation, a special research project that involves considerable fieldwork and is designed to simulate the initiates' future work as a Pathfinder. Even the noteworthy field commissioned agents sometimes participate in such trials as a way to familiarize themselves with the Pathfinder Society’s rules and expectations. Although Confirmation is typically an individual affair, the society recently discovered a site on the Isle of Kortos that would be perfect for initiates but perhaps too dangerous to handle alone. Successfully uncovering this site’s secrets will not only contribute to the society’s body of knowledge but shape the exciting careers ahead for each of the prospective agents.

When the necromancer-king Tar-Baphon rose as a lich and threatened to conquer all of Avistan, Taldor rallied its neighbors and led the Shining Crusade, a glorious campaign that defeated the Whispering Tyrant’s armies and sealed him away. For the better part of a millennium, Lastwall has guarded Tar-Baphon’s prison and fended off the orc tribes to the north, rarely sparing a second thought to the rich archaeological secrets that lie just below the soil. A local venture-captain has found a lost chapter to the Tome of Righteous Repose, which chronicles the demise of countless heroes of the Shining Crusade. At long last, this has earned the Society Lastwall’s blessing to uncover these lost sites, lay to rest the fallen crusaders, and repatriate the family heirlooms they carried to battle.

"From the Tome of Righteous Repose" is an evergreen, replayable scenario designed to provide a flexible adventure that confronts the PCs with a variety of threats more common to higher-level characters—all while uncovering the history of one of Avistan’s greatest conflicts. Depending on which lead the PCs take, they might explore the proud crusader nation of Lastwall, travel into the gloom-shrouded mountains of Ustalav, or risk an expedition into the orc-ruled wastes of Belkzen in pursuit of lost history.

The Corps Come Calling

Work in Chicago long enough and you get used to a lot of weird things, so when one corp puts out the feelers for a team of runners to pull off a sabotage job on another, it seems refreshingly simple. It’s a classic shadowrun set up—two corps beat up on each other for a little while, runners make themselves a few nuyen, and the world keeps moving around.

But it’s not that simple. Of course it isn’t. If something of value is going through Chicago’s Containment Zones, people are going to catch its scent—and when they do, they’re going to want a piece of it. Runners are going to find themselves caught between multiple forces in the city, faced with the kind of choice that always seems extra difficult in the Sixth World: Figuring out what’s the right thing to do?
