Welcome to D&D Adventurers League gaming at Game Empire. This Warhorn site is for organizing League games on Wednesdays, Friday, and the 1st Saturday of every month.. See below for a list of upcoming dates!

Times for Wednesdays and Fridays: Games shall begin at 7:00 PM, so please show up around 6:45 or 6:30 PM. They shall then go until 11:00 PM.

New Players Are Always Welcome!
New players are always welcome at our game day, including walk-ins. We allow 5 pre-registrations on Warhorn and anyone, whether newcomer or longtime player can sign up in advance. We then keep two spots open as a first come, first serve basis for walk-ins.
The D&D Adventurers League is designed to be very easy for new players to join. Just show up, we'll show you the ropes. If you want to sign up in advance (and you probably do, since you're reading this on the sign-up site) feel free to do so. Just make sure that the adventure you pick is suitable for first level characters.

We'll have pregenerated characters available, so you can just show up and start playing right away. However, if you'd like to make your own character, that's fine, too. Either do so beforehand, or sign up for one of our character creation workshops.

The first time you join us, you needn't bring anything. If you have them, paper, something to write with, dice, and either the D&D Basic Rules (available here) or the Player's Handbook (available in the store) are helpful. However, we'll have plenty along so that you can borrow.

There Are Lots of D&D Adventurers League Events at Game Empire!
There are other opportunities to play in D&D Adventurers League games at Game Empire Pasadena. Beyond our big monthly event on the 1st Saturday of every month, we are organizing for Wednesdays and Fridays as well.

We're Going to Be Draconian About Mustering and Timing!
We're committed to giving you a quality experience. The Saturday games are scheduled tightly to allow people to play 3 adventures each game day. To ensure that people get time to eat and for personal breaks between games, we are going to work with our DMs on timing with the goal of all adventures finishing on time. That means the adventure ends 10 minutes before the slot ends, allowing a few minutes for paperwork (distributing experience, gold, renown, downtime, and magic items!) before the break.

It also means that we're going to muster the next games promptly at the start of the next slot. If you're not present when mustering begins, we will try our very best to make sure you get to play, but you may be seated at a different table than you signed up for, and your adventure may have already started when you arrive. We understand that life happens and that people are late sometimes. If that happens, when you arrive, see the marshal, find the seat he or she assigns you, and try to slip into your game as smoothly as possible. Please understand that we will try to assign walk-ins and waitlisted players seat if we believe we have no shows, so try your best to be on time.

Speaking of marshals, each game day we'll have one volunteer whose job it is to help you find your game and to run the timing of the event. At the beginning of each slot, the marshal will muster and send pre-registered players to their tables. After that, he or she will assign walk-ins to tables. The marshall will also have the pre-generated characters available.During each slot, the marshal will help late arrivals find tables and will provide time reminders to the DMs, particularly the end of slot warnings.

In between these duties, the marshal is going to play a game. Please be courteous of the marshal's attention. He or she is a volunteer and has a lot to do. Please try to reserve your questions to him or her for the mustering period, or ask them of your DM or any other organizers who may be present. Please also be patient with the marshal as a player. The marshal will do his or her best not to let the marshaling duties interfere with the game, but they are bound to take the marshal away from the table from time to time. Please do your best to continue on in the marshal's absence.

Dungeon Masters (DMs) are central to the D&D experience, whether in the D&D Adventurers League or otherwise. We are committed to supporting our DMs, so that they can offer you the best play experience possible. Some of the ways we're doing that are:

  • Scheduling adventures far in advance, so DMs have plenty of time to prepare the adventures they offer;
  • Striving for each DM to only DM once per game day, so DMs have an opportunity to play and don't get burned out over the course of the day or the year;
  • Adopting strict registration, mustering, stop, and start time procedures to ensure DMs get time for breaks and can themselves offer optimal play experiences.

If you want to DM for us, sign up to run a game. If you sign up to DM but don't have the adventure yet, please shoot one of the organizers an email, and we'll send it to you.

Game Empire generously offers us five tables each month to host this game day, free of charge. Please help us show our thanks by giving them some business from time to time, if you can, whether it's buying a soda, a candy bar, a game, a book, or some minis.

Game Empire has a strict policy prohibiting outside food, which we will help enforce. Please do not consume outside food in the store. We'll do our best to ensure you have a break to be able to grab a quick bite, but you have to do that outside of the store. If you need to eat in the store, you're unfortunately limited to buying some candy at the counter.
