Winter Weekend in the Pale has ended.
Join us for another Winter Weekend in the Pale! This year, it will be two weeks after Thanksgiving and two weeks before Christmas.
At this renowned end-of-year event, you can catch up on Year-Five PAL and NMR scenarios, pick up some Year-Sixes that you missed, or play new adventures. We hope that the schedule meets your needs.
Games will start on Thursday night, with three slots on each subsequent day -- a total of ten slots of gaming!
Premieres: Two Pale regionals, including the conclusions to the "Winter" plot arc and the arc begun in PAL5-06 My Brother's Keeper. We will also have a new four-hour Pale 'minimission', a special miniatures-based game, and the local premieres of three Cores.
Special Battle Interactive: APL 2-16, connected with the final Winter regional scenario... it could spell the end for Winterwind! End the year with a blast! It will cost 2 TUs for Pale PCs, double that for non-Pale PCs. Please save those TUs and take part in an event that has been years in the making. |

Winter Weekend in the Pale is returning to the Radisson Hotel in Sunnyvale.

The Radisson has set aside some rooms for us at a discounted rate of $79 per night. When you make your reservation by phone, mention Winter Weekend in the Pale to get the lower rate; online, use the special code "gamers". If you are staying at the Radisson on Thursday night, you cannot reserve online with the discounted rate; you must reserve by phone (use the 408 number, not the 800 number) or by emailing our contact at the Radisson directly. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel has a reasonably priced restaurant near the room where the games will be played. We will be allowed to eat non-hotel food in the gaming rooms (but not in the lobby), if we put any trash in the bin provided. Leaving trash on the tables or on the floor will earn you a quick trip to a New Dawn Camp!

Transportation
San Jose airport (SJC) is just a few miles away, and the hotel has a free shuttle to and from that airport. San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) airports are also within 35 and 45 minutes' drives, respectively, of the hotel.
You can take public transit, but it takes some time and determination:
* The Valley Transit Authority (VTA) runs some busses in the area, including the #22 and the limited-stop #300, both of which run along El Camino Real in front of the hotel. Get off the bus at Lawrence Expressway or just west of it.
* You can take BART to Millbrae and transfer to a southbound CalTrain. The Lawrence station is about 2 miles from the hotel, or you can go to the Santa Clara station take a westbound #22 or #300 bus from there (see above). |
