Extra Schedule Information The Ante Up games are run as a benefit for the Silicon Valley Humane Society. We are asking for a $1 donation for each game. Games will be for 4-6 players and will run throughout the con. Characters of any level can participate, so this is a chance for low level heroes to rub shoulders with the big names. The optional rules in the Three Dragon Ante rulebook about bluff, concentration, diplomacy, intimidate, profession: gambler, sense motive and sleight of hand will be used. The preliminaries from slots 1 through 9 and count towards qualifying for the finals in slot 10. Pick up games run after regular events finish can count for qualifying but only if the paperwork is handled by the tournament coordinator. Approximately 12-24 people will qualify for the finals, depending on how much play occurs. You can play in slots 11 and 12 or outside of convention hours, but these games do not count towards the finals. Details aren't finalized yet, but there will be a lot of preliminary rounds (one for each color of dragon, or domains of Pholtus, etc.) and one final, which will have multiple rounds. You don't have to sign up for a specific round in a slot and can play whichever rounds you need. There will be no item access (bottom half of the AR) but there will be favor access (top half of the AR). The high score (which will be adjusted based on the number of players at the table) for each preliminary round will qualify for the finals. The highest total score (from playing lots of rounds) and the highest average score (from playing rounds well) will qualify, possibly 2nd and 3rd depending on how many players are involved. The highest bluffer, diplomat, etc. could also qualify. This information will be updated as we get our sanctioning information. |
