Theocracy by the Bay returns for one last time in 2008. We will run all year 7 Pale regionals and intro mods as well as all Nyrond metaregionals, plus at least two year 8 regionals and up to two year 8 metaregionals. There will be a 2 round access interactive on Saturday night leading up to the final mod in Mark Quinto's Truth or Derro series, which will premiere on Sunday morning. We will also run our biggest Three Dragon Ante event ever as a benefit event. You can play throughout the con, but only official games run by the tournament coordinator can count toward qualifying for the final rounds that will run in the first slot Monday morning. Last year we raised $3000 for the Silicon Valley Humane Society, who will be our beneficiary again this year. In addition to the Three Dragon Ante event, we will continue the tradition of our charity auction and have a raffle for some nice prizes. Details are still coming together so stay tuned.

SIGN UPS ARE NOW CLOSED. PEOPLE ALREADY REGISTERED CAN STILL MAKE CHANGES TO THEIR SCHEDULE.
Right now, waitlisting is allowed, however we will not add any more tables unless 4 people are waitlisted and we have a judge and space available. The schedule will be locked down on the Monday or Tuesday before the con.
If you have not paid for the con by Midnight on Sunday, your registration will be deleted and you will be dropped from the con. |

Venue/Lodging
The convention is being held at the same location in Sunnyvale as last year, however the hotel has changed ownership and has a new name. We have negotiated an $89 nightly rate for sleeping rooms. This is a large discount to their usual rates. When you call the hotel to make reservations you must tell them that you are with Theocracy by the Bay. Rooms will be available starting January 9th. This specially discounted price is only available until February 8th.

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel has a reasonably priced restaurant near the rooms where the games will be played. They will even deliver meals to the gaming tables.

Transportation
SJC is the closest airport and paid shuttles or reasonable cab fare will get you to the hotel. The hotel no longer offers free shuttle service. SFO is the 2nd closest airport and is much larger, so lower fares may be available, however, it is much further away. |

Community
To get the full convention experience, you'll want to join some Yahoogroups, at least until the convention passes.
All attendees should join the Theocracy by the Bay Players group to get up-to-the-minute information and talk about the convention.
We also recommend that everyone join the Pale yahoogroup.
Judges are required to join the Pale Con Judge group for discussing issues, planning slot zeroes and getting scenario information.
