Welcome to Con-Dor, San Diego's longest-running science fiction convention.
Con-Dor is a dessert parfait (and everyone likes parfaits!) made up of confectionary layers of science fiction, fantasy, horror, art, music, discussion, real actual space science, films, gaming, shopping, partying, and food!
If Con-Dor were a person, it would be your favorite uncle from out of town who visits once a year and brings toys and games. You know, the one your parents aren't too happy with, because he shoots from the hip and always tells the truth, no matter what.
Con-Dor is a comfortable convention. You can actually find time to sit in the big comfy chairs in the hotel lobby and gossip for a while, or even just read a book. You can meet all your old friends here, and make a bunch of new ones.
If Con-Dor were a tv show, it would be "I Dream of Jeannie," where science fiction and fantasy get along happily together, along with a little romance and some healthy laughs.
If Con-Dor were a zoo...well, hey, there are some who say it is! But it's a happy little zoo, where there aren't any bars on the cages, and, in fact, nobody is completely sure who are the exhibits and who are the visitors!
Come to Con-Dor, the convention that isn't afraid to mix metaphors.

Venue/Lodging
ConDor has grown into a new hotel for 2005! We will be at the Marriott Mission Valley, located on Rio San Diego Drive, on the southeast corner of Rio San Diego Drive & Qualcomm Way. We have an unbelievable room rate (see below) and the room block will open soon. We're all looking forward to 2005! See you in Mission Valley!

Transportation
Directions:
From the south: Take I-5 North to 163 North. Take 163 North to I-8 East exit. Travel east along I-8 until you get to the Texas Street/Qualcomm Way exit. Take that exit and take the Qualcomm Way ramp. Every time you have a choice, continue to take the Qualcomm Way ramp. Turn slightly right onto Qualcomm Way. (Note: Qualcomm Way & Texas Street are the same street; it just changes names at the I-8 intersection. If you go south from I-8, it's called Texas Street. If you go north from I-8, it's called Qualcomm Way.) Go up Qualcomm Way and under the trolley overpass to Rio San Diego Drive. Turn right and then turn immediately right into the hotel driveway.
From the north: Take I-5 South to I-805 South. Take I-805 South to 163 South. Take 163 South to the Friar's Road East exit (toward stadium). Travel east along Friar's Road (this section of Friar's looks a lot like a freeway) to the Qualcomm Way exit. Take that exit ramp & turn right onto Qualcomm Way. Go south on Qualcomm Way to Rio San Diego Drive and turn left on Rio San Diego. Turn immediately right into the hotel driveway. |
