Rivals Fantasy Games in Hillsboro provides a fun, family-oriented atmosphere for gaming enthusiasts of all ages. The store offers a complete snack bar with food and drinks for anyone who needs to maintain their fuel during a game. Local artists are supported by hanging and showing works of art, airbrushed t-shirts by a local airbrush artist, and participation in Hillsboro's First Tuesdays' Art Walks. Whether you're new to gaming or a seasoned veteran, come check us out!
Please be sure to sign up for an event as early as possible so that our DMs can prepare in advance according to how many people are coming and what characters they are bringing. Also, if in the event you have signed up but cannot make a game, please make sure to remove yourself from the sign up. You do this by going to the game that you signed up for, clicking on "sign up", and then you'll see an option for "leave open". Check that box and click Save, and you'll no longer be in the list of attending players.
This is important because other people need to see if a table is filled up or still has room for players. If you're signed up, but do not plan on attending, or if something has come up that conflicts with your attendance, please be considerate of the other players who may be watching the schedule in order to see if there are open slots available for a game.
When you register, please include your RPGA number. There are many times when I'm reporting an event for a DM and I'm missing a player's RPGA number for whatever reason. In those cases I always come here and locate the player's RGPA number so that our reporting is accurate.
DMs: Please be as prepared as possible to run the table with whatever you are comfortable with: miniatures, dungeon tiles or vinyl map, any props that might enhance the game, and so forth. Have a clear head, vivid imagination, and a thorough understanding of the adventure for that evening. You are the representative of the adventure, the game, the brand, and the entire experience for the players. The more you put into that experience, the more fun you have as well as the players, and the players will remember you and be thankful for the great time you provided for them. Each time you run a table, you are developing a reputation for yourself and leaving a legacy. When you register here, we add your email address to a list that we maintain in case we need to get in touch with the group for any reason. It is extremely important that your email address is valid. In the case of an emergency, if the store is ever closed for some reason, or if there are any important updates that need to be communicated, we will send an email to everyone on the list. It is not spam, and it is not automated. We personally manage it and when something comes up that we need everyone to know about, we personally blast the email out.
