Brewfest is back!
Gamers will once again invade the River View Room at Buckner Brewing Company in gorgeous downtown Cape Girardeau. After bidding farewell to globally popular Living Greyhawk, we were wondering if there would be something to wave the banner about this year. As if on cue, Paizo Publishing unveils their new Pathfinder Society a scant month before in September, which means we will be able to offer you the absolute NEWEST gaming sensation within weeks of its debut!
For those who don't know, Pathfinder is a new fantasy RPG built upon the bones of D&D 3.5. The creators include several names you'll find printed in your 3rd Edition Core books, and they have reportedly done an amazing job of keeping all the things you loved while throwing out a lot of the extraneous. Skills are back!
And with the Pathfinder Society you can once more create a character and trek to all your favorite cons to play it. I've heard nothing but "WOW! (not WoW) about this game and I'm personally eager to sink my teeth in. I project that this may well become the flagship game for Brewfest, if not a good number of established conventions.
BUT, fear not faithful friend. The RPGA is still around too. We will offer enough Living Forgotten Realms to make any Tiefling sharpen his horns and polish his tail.
In addition we will be happy to entertain requests if you would like to run something of your own. We plan to have Deadlands, Kobolds, and all the old favorites back too, so there should be no gamer left with nothing to do.
That sounds like a pretty full con, doesn't it?
